FAQ

The 20 questions buyers ask most

Ordered by how often we are asked. Every entry answers in the first sentence; the detail comes after. If you only read one line, that line is enough.

Only checkable things on this page. Figures come from our own lines and stock. Quotes are issued per enquiry — you will not find an invented price here.

01What you are actually buying

What is the difference between OEM and ODM?

OEM puts your brand on an existing factory formula. ODM means the factory reworks a formula to your brief.

  • OEM: you pick from 13,000+ formulas on file. Fastest route — samples in 3–7 days.
  • ODM: you have a specific brief; the formula is adjusted and re-validated for stability. 2–4 weeks.
  • OBM: the factory takes it from formula through to finished brand — for teams starting from zero.
  • Same line, same quality system. The only difference is how many steps you hand over.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Typically 3,000–5,000 units for standard formats. Stock packaging goes lower; tooled packaging usually starts at 10,000.

  • A line changeover means a full clean-down, so very small runs cannot absorb the cost.
  • Packaging is a separate account: stock components have a low minimum, tooled ones must amortise the mould.
  • Our flexibility: 13,000+ formulas on file and 4,476 stock packaging items. First runs from 3,000.

How is contract manufacturing priced?

Bulk + packaging + filling + testing + documentation + margin. Every line moves with your choices.

  • Bulk: driven by actives grade and concentration. Cosmetic grade and pharma grade differ several times over.
  • Packaging: on small sizes (30 ml) packaging can be half the total; on 200 ml+ the bulk takes over.
  • Testing: heavy metals, microbiology and stability are not optional.
  • Documentation: label review and regulatory work are priced per destination market.
  • Send specs, volume and destination market, and you get a line-by-line quote. A quote 30% under cost is making it back somewhere else.

How long do samples take?

3–7 days from an existing formula. 2–4 weeks if the formula has to be reworked.

  • The 3–7 days covers filling an on-file formula into your chosen packaging with your label — no R&D time.
  • A reworked formula waits on stability observation. That wait cannot be compressed.
  • Sample fees are normally credited against the production order.

02Certification and compliance

Which certifications do you hold?

GMPC, ISO 22716:2007, HALAL, FDA facility registration, EU CPNP and SGS. Numbers and validity are shared from the originals.

  • These are facility-level credentials, not product test reports — the two are not interchangeable.
  • Certificate numbers are not published: a buyer who genuinely verifies will ask for the original anyway.

What do I need to sell into the EU?

CPNP notification, a CPSR safety assessment and an EU-based Responsible Person. All three are mandatory.

  • Screen the formula against EU restricted lists before it is locked — some China-compliant ingredients are not allowed.
  • We hold EU CPNP and screen formulas against the destination market up front.

How does HALAL work for the Middle East?

Through our Indonesian plant: local production, HALAL certification, Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern compliance.

  • HALAL covers cross-contamination on the line, not only the ingredient list — which is why a locally certified plant matters.

What claims can we make?

Destination-market regulation and third-party testing decide. Classical-formula research informs design; it is not a claim.

  • The same sentence is judged differently in different markets. Fix the market first, then the test plan.

03Capacity and the factory

What is your production capacity?

500,000+ sheet masks and 300,000+ cream units per day, 15 automated lines, class-100,000 GMP cleanrooms.

  • Over 20,000 m² across Guangzhou and Indonesia, plus 10,000 m²+ of smart warehousing.
  • What matters is whether your order fits the peak-season schedule — that is locked at the brief stage.

Can we visit the factory?

Yes — video walkthrough or in person. A factory that will not show you the line usually has a reason.

  • Look at the gowning flow, how batch records are filled in, and whether the retention cabinet has anything in it.

Which categories do you make?

Skincare, colour cosmetics, oral care, baby skincare, body care and fragrance, plus licensed IP products.

  • Baby skincare is scheduled separately against a low-irritation standard.

What is your technical edge?

Three things: herbal fermentation, cold flash extraction and biosynthesis.

  • Fermentation: rare ginsenoside activity raised 10–20×, pesticide residue degraded by over 90%.
  • Cold flash extraction: 0–10 °C, over 95% retention of heat-sensitive actives, 40% higher yield.
  • Biosynthesis: rhCOLL recombinant humanised collagen, developed with Jinan University.

04Packaging and formulas

Can we choose our own packaging?

4,476 items are filterable online. Every one has a code — send the code instead of a description.

  • Filter by type, material, capacity and compatible format. Every item has a real product shot on white.
  • PET pump bottles and jars run about $0.20–0.32 per piece FOB Guangzhou at 10,000 — an order of magnitude, not a quotation.
  • Glass, tubes and cartons are deliberately unpriced: their cost curve is nothing like PET, so a PET-based figure would understate them.
  • We also fill into packaging you supply — send neck size and capacity and we check compatibility.

Can one formula go into different packaging?

Yes, after compatibility testing. Bulk reacts with packaging — this is not a theoretical risk.

  • Common failures: high-oil formulas deforming PET, acidic formulas attacking metal pump springs, essential oils swelling gaskets.
  • Each packaging item lists the formats it fits — filter on that first, then test.

Where do your botanicals come from?

Over 20 cooperating mountain plots across Bijie (Guizhou), Kashgar (Xinjiang) and Qingyuan (Guangdong), documented batch by batch.

  • Harvest timing is set against the actives peak, and each grade is warehoused separately.
  • Growing conditions, fertiliser records, harvest batch and test reports are all on file.

Do you provide test reports per batch?

Yes — actives content, pesticide residue and heavy metals, issued per batch.

  • Tell us the category and destination market and we prepare the set that market asks for.

05Cross-border and ways of working

How should a cross-border brand pick a manufacturer?

In this order: market first, packaging second, formula last. Reverse it and you rework.

  • The market decides ingredient restrictions. Locking the formula first is how projects get scrapped.
  • Packaging decides restock speed — stock versus tooled differ by an order of magnitude.
  • Volume decides the price tier: 5,000 versus 50,000 units can differ by 30%+.

Can you handle only part of the process?

Yes. Full line, formula only, filling only, or packaging supply — we take whichever part you hand over.

  • Each segment is quoted and scheduled separately; nothing is bundled.

How low can the minimum go?

Stock packaging plus a standard format: first runs from 3,000 units.

  • Below that the unit price stops being meaningful — fixed cost per unit exceeds the bulk itself.
  • For testing, run several formulas at the minimum and let the market decide which one scales.

How do we start?

Tell us three things: category, destination market, first-run volume. We will ask the rest.

  • With those three we can tell you OEM or ODM, stock or tooled packaging, and which documents you will need.
  • Or just send codes — the packaging code you like and the format you are benchmarking beats a paragraph.
  • WhatsApp / WeChat (we reach out after you submit the form), or use the contact form. Written reply within two business days.

Send us the brief

Category, destination market, first-run volume. Three lines is enough.
