- Synthetic hydrocarbon solvent providing dry, silky skin feel; high volatility, non-comedogenic, common in sunscreens and foundations, usage 5-30%.
- Quaternium-18 Bentonite
- Anionic clay complex for high viscosity and suspension; incompatible with cationics
- Triacontanyl Pvp
- High-MW film former and thickener; gives slip and longevity, high levels risk heavy texture.
- Propylene Carbonate
- Inert solvent and viscosity modifier; often used as penetration enhancer, mild at low levels
- Hydrogenated Polyisobutene
- Hydrogenated polyisobutene; petroleum-derived lubricant forming breathable film; high purity, low irritation/comedogenicity.
- Phenoxyethanol
- Broad-spectrum preservative at ≤1%; may irritate sensitive eye areas, often paired with ethylhexylglycerin
