Ingredients explained

Aqua
Solvent, main base; microbial control is critical
Ascorbic Acid
Vitamin C, potent antioxidant requiring acidic environment for stability; oxidizes and discolors easily, needs light and air protection, concentration 1-10%, pure L-ascorbic acid is more irritating.
Propanediol
Polyol solvent at 1–5%; light feel, aids solubilization, propylene glycol alternative
Glycerin
Workhorse humectant at 3–10%; tacky at high levels, pair with occlusives
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
Light occlusive and solvent at 1–10%; non-greasy feel, suitable for oily and combination skin
C14-22 Alcohols
Fatty alcohol blend for emulsion stability and texture; may contain myristyl alcohol, moderate comedogenic risk.
Tocotrienols
Vitamin E isomer; potent antioxidant for lipid protection and UV synergy, light and heat sensitive.
Tocopherol
Natural antioxidant (vitamin E) at 0.1–1%; prone to oxidation, store protected from light
Squalene
Squalene, lightweight emollient, easily absorbed; animal sources restricted, plant sources preferred
Arginine
Arginine for moisturizing/conditioning; amino acid, high biocompatibility, often used in blends.
Sodium Hyaluronate
Potent humectant at 0.1–2%; different MW for penetration depth, high levels may draw moisture
Panthenol
Panthenol (vitamin B5) at 1–5%; moisturizing and reparative, supports barrier recovery
Zinc Lactate
Not decoded yet
Beta-Sitosterol
Plant sterol for emulsion stability and barrier support; high levels may destabilize hydrophilic systems.
Elaeis Guineensis Oil
Palm oil, emollient occlusive; saturated fats, moderate comedogenic risk.
C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside
Non-ionic surfactant for mild cleansing and emulsification; plant-based glucoside, suitable for sensitive and baby skin.
1,2-Hexanediol
Polyol solvent and preservative booster at 1–5%; light feel, can replace some traditional preservatives
Pentylene Glycol
Polyol humectant at 1-3%; low irritancy, suitable for sensitive skin
Xanthan Gum
Natural thickener at 0.1–1%; provides gel texture, pH-stable, requires full hydration
Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6
Water-soluble thickener; requires neutralizer, performs best at pH 5–7
Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer
High-molecular-weight thickener and emulsion stabilizer; requires electrolytes or acid adjustment near isoelectric point for optimal performance.
Glyceryl Stearate
Emulsifier at 1-3%; may require acid to prevent saponification
Hexamidine Diisethionate
Antimicrobial preservative targeting Gram-positive bacteria. EU-limited concentration; conduct irritation tests and verify compatibility with other preservative systems.
Polysorbate 60
Non-ionic emulsifier and solubilizer for O/W or W/O stability; may cause mild stinging on sensitive skin, typically 1-5%.
Sorbitan Isostearate
Non-ionic emulsifier (low HLB); typically used in blends, low comedogenicity, soft skin feel.
T-Butyl Alcohol
Fast-evaporating solvent; sharp odor and potential irritation at high levels, limit usage
Ci 15985
Synthetic colorant Yellow 4; known maximum usage limits, potential allergy for some, add per regulations with batch records.
Ci 19140
Acid Yellow 23 lake; for coloring and hair dyeing. High water solubility and precipitation risk, pH control required.
Parfum
Fragrance for scent; may contain allergens, caution for sensitive skin, full labeling required.
