- Amino acid surfactant, gentle and suitable for sensitive skin; moderate cleansing power.
- Glycerin
- Workhorse humectant at 3–10%; tacky at high levels, pair with occlusives
- Sodium stearoyl glutamate
- Mild amino-acid surfactant, poor solubility, pairs with fatty alcohols, fine foam.
- Citric Acid
- Buffer and chelator at 0.1–2%; adjusts pH, may irritate sensitive skin at low pH
- Xanthan Gum
- Natural thickener at 0.1–1%; provides gel texture, pH-stable, requires full hydration
- Coco-betaine
- Mild amphoteric cleanser, good foam; may precipitate with cationics, control dose for low irritation
- Levulinic acid
- Biodegradable organic acid acting as skin conditioner and perfume; pH adjuster, low irritation at typical use levels.
- Coco-glucoside
- Mild non-ionic surfactant for cleansing and foaming; rich foam, low irritation, suitable for sensitive and children's products
- Glyceryl oleate
