Titanium Dioxide[Nano]

Nano physical UV filter/occluder covering UVA1–UVA2/UVB; inhalation risk only in powders, low in finished creams; label NANO required.

Primary solvent; requires preservatives at high concentration; adjust viscosity with thickeners

Xanthan Gum

Natural thickener at 0.1–1%; provides gel texture, pH-stable, requires full hydration

Disteardimonium Hectorite

Hydrogenated Polydecene

Trehalose

Trehalose; mild humectant and stabilizer for proteins/actives; hygroscopic, light skin feel.

Propylene Carbonate

Inert solvent and viscosity modifier; often used as penetration enhancer, mild at low levels

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate

Vitamin C ester antioxidant; more stable than ascorbic acid but still light-sensitive.

Citric Acid

Buffer and chelator at 0.1–2%; adjusts pH, may irritate sensitive skin at low pH
