Jar or airless bottle: which packaging suits a high-active serum?
Products built on oxidation-sensitive actives (retinol, peptides, vitamin C) belong in an airless bottle rather than an open jar.
1Oxidation and contamination
An open jar exposes the product to air and fingers at every use; an airless piston never lets air back in.
2Dose control
An airless pump delivers a set dose (commonly 0.15–0.2 ml), which lets the leaflet state the amount; a jar leaves it to the eye.
3Cost and perception
At the same fill volume an airless bottle costs more; jars remain the norm for rich creams and body butters.
