Body lotion and body wash OEM for the UAE: how are fragrance allergens, halal sourcing and labeling handled?
Under Cabinet Decision No. 18 of 2014 and GSO 1943, UAE labels must be Arabic and list fragrance allergens; claiming halal requires official certification held by a local entity. 1Allergen Declarations
Residual lotions and wash-off body washes have distinct threshold standards. Natural essential oils contain higher total allergens and are not exempt. Fragrances must be verified against official lists.
2Halal Sourcing & Cert
Claiming halal requires official certification by a UAE entity. All fragrance ingredients and solvents (e.g., ethanol) need individual vegan/halal declarations. Comprehensive claims are not accepted.
3Labeling & Filing
Arabic labels (bilingual accepted) must list INCI, allergens, and warnings. Pre-market requires MoIAT ECAS CoC (1 year) and Dubai Montaji registration (5 years) for retail sale.
