Cyclopentasiloxane

Cyclopentasiloxane for emollient/solvent; volatile silicone, smooth feel, check VOC regulations.

Dimethicone

Silicone occlusive at 1–5%; provides smooth feel, non-penetrating, suitable for sensitive skin

Glycerin

Workhorse humectant at 3–10%; tacky at high levels, pair with occlusives

Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate

Thickener and bulking agent for creams; 1-5%, avoid cationic systems

Cetearyl Alcohol

Fatty alcohol emulsifier at 1-5%; non-ionic surfactant

PCA Dimethicone

Modified silicone for smoothness and shine; occlusive, suitable for dry hair, avoid excess on oily face.

Silica

Silica powder at 1–10%; absorbs oil, thickens, provides matte finish, for oil-control products

Trimethylsiloxysilicate

Silicate powder, oil-absorbing emollient; insoluble, high levels feel powdery.

Methyl trimethicone

Methyl trimethicone, light volatile silicone; non-comedogenic, good powder compatibility.

Sucrose palmitate

Succrose ester for gentle emulsification/cleansing; biodegradable, low comedogenicity.

Propylene Glycol

Polyol humectant at 3-10%; hygroscopic, slight tackiness, mild irritation at high conc., verify preservative efficacy, no allergen.

Glyceryl Stearate

Emulsifier at 1-3%; may require acid to prevent saponification

Parfum

Fragrance for scent; may contain allergens, caution for sensitive skin, full labeling required.

Diazolidinyl Urea
