- Pentylene Glycol
- Polyol humectant at 1-3%; low irritancy, suitable for sensitive skin
- Lauryl Glucoside
- Mild nonionic surfactant for cleansing; 1-5%, suitable for sensitive skin
- Betaine
- Betaine for mild moisturizing/surfactant; low concentration 1-2% common, high may irritate.
- Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate
- Amino acid surfactant, gentle cleansing; rich foam, may sting eyes, good compatibility.
- Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate
- Gluconate carboxylate anionic surfactant, mild cleanser; good for sensitive formulations.
- Bisabolol
- Soothing and anti-inflammatory agent, 0.01–0.1%; low irritation, good for sensitive skin.
- Zinc Pca
- Zinc salt for sebum control and antimicrobial; often paired with PCA sodium, high levels may cause sensitization
- Copper Gluconate
- Copper gluconate; trace antioxidant/repair agent. Use <0.05%; high levels cause color change/irritation.
- Magnesium Sulfate
- Bulk agent at 0.1–1%; highly water-soluble, avoid high local concentration.
- Xanthan Gum
- Natural thickener at 0.1–1%; provides gel texture, pH-stable, requires full hydration
- Acacia Senegal Gum
- Natural film-former and fragrance agent; used for viscosity or film, check purity for allergens
- Disodium EDTA
- Chelating agent at 0.05–0.5%; sequesters metal ions for stability, boosts preservative efficacy
- Citric Acid
- Buffer and chelator at 0.1–2%; adjusts pH, may irritate sensitive skin at low pH
