Selling sunscreen in Indonesia: which SPF / PA test report is accepted, and how is the product notified?
Sunscreen products in Indonesia require pre-market notification via BPOM's Notifkos e-system, per BPOM Regulation No. 21/2022 and Health Law No. 17/2023. SPF values must be determined by standardized in-vitro methods (CTS 1625), and PA ratings require critical wavelength assessment. Labels must include the BPOM notification number and Indonesian text. The applicant must be an Indonesian legal entity, and BPJPH halal certification is mandatory from 2026, subject to the latest official texts.

Requires pre-market notification via BPOM's Notifikasi system. The applicant must be an Indonesian legal entity. The fee is IDR 1,500,000, and the notification is valid for 3 years.
