Cyclopentasiloxane

Cyclopentasiloxane for emollient/solvent; volatile silicone, smooth feel, check VOC regulations.

Talc

Inorganic mineral powder for texture and oil absorption; must be asbestos-free; fineness affects skin feel and safety, avoid inhalation.

Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate

UVA absorber used with other filters; poor water stability and photolability, requires light stabilizers, max concentration typically 10%.

Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 dimethicone

Silicone surfactant, smooth and mild; regulates rheology and adds antistatic benefits

Propylene Glycol

Sodium Dehydroacetate

Sodium dehydroacetate, preservative <0.5%; restricted for eye, children, and lip use.

Triethoxycaprylylsilane

Silane coupling agent at 0.1-0.5%; enhances inorganic filler adhesion, trace use, low toxicity, avoid direct contact with aqueous systems.

Alumina

Alumina, inorganic abrasive/thickener; nano-grade requires inhalation risk assessment.

Disteardimonium Hectorite

Inorganic ionic clay thickener at 0.25-1%; water/oil/solvent systems, rheology control, avoid strong acids, may affect active release.

Benzoic Acid

Preservative and pH adjuster at 0.1–0.5%; low water solubility, best in acidic media, irritant at high levels.

Tetrasodium EDTA

Chelator removing metal ions to enhance antioxidant and preservative efficacy; very low usage, typically 0.05-0.1%, no direct skincare function.

Dehydroacetic Acid
