Polyol solvent and preservative booster at 1–5%; light feel, can replace some traditional preservatives

Bamboo stem powder, physical exfoliant; grit size dictates irritation, prevent settling in creams

Arginine

Arginine for moisturizing/conditioning; amino acid, high biocompatibility, often used in blends.

Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate

Lactobacillus ferment lysate for skin conditioning; provides soothing and hydration, low sensitization risk if sterile.

Bifida Ferment Lysate

Bifida lysate for skin conditioning; low usage, suits sensitive skin

Lactococcus Ferment Lysate

Lactococcus lysate; provides amino acids and polysaccharides for moisture, fermentation reduces allergens.

Sodium Hyaluronate

Potent humectant at 0.1–2%; different MW for penetration depth, high levels may draw moisture

Panthenol

Panthenol (vitamin B5) at 1–5%; moisturizing and reparative, supports barrier recovery

Salix Alba Bark Extract

Contains natural salicylic acid precursors, mild exfoliating and antibacterial; may irritate at high levels; avoid in sensitive skin.

Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate

Cationic hyaluronic acid, 0.1–1%; water-soluble thickener and conditioning agent.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide at 2–5%; improves texture, controls oil, brightens; high levels may cause sensitivity

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate

Vitamin C derivative antioxidant at 0.5–2%; light-sensitive, requires opaque packaging

Salicylic Acid

Lipophilic BHA at 0.5-2%; exfoliant/sebum control, irritation/sensitization at high conc., photosensitivity (SPF needed), avoid sensitive/pregnant.

Lactic Acid

AHA pH adjuster at 0.5-5%; exfoliation/humectancy, mild at low conc., irritating at high, avoid conflict with alkaline preservatives.

Glycolic Acid

Glycolic acid for exfoliation; requires buffering at concentrations >10%, avoid combination with other acids.

Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid

Low-MW humectant with superior penetration vs high-MW; 0.1-0.5% typical, hygroscopic, store dry to prevent clumping.

Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate

Acetylated HA; modified for hydrophobicity, improved penetration and non-tacky feel compared to standard HA.

Hyaluronic Acid

High-water-binding humectant at 0.1-1%; high-MW for surface film, low-MW for dermal potential, check cationic compatibility.

Cyanocobalamin

Vitamin B12 derivative, antioxidant and skin conditioning; light-sensitive, requires light-protective packaging, water-soluble

Pyridoxine

Vitamin B6, water-soluble; skin/hair conditioner/anti-static, poor light stability, protect from light.

Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer

Crosslinked high-MW HA; forms surface hydrogel for long-lasting hydration, minimal penetration, physical film-forming.

Potassium Hyaluronate

Hyaluronic salt, excellent humectant; efficacy varies with MW, best with occlusive base

Aqua/Water/Eau

Water as solvent/base; main ingredient, microbial control needed, paired with preservatives.

Carbomer

Gelling thickener requiring neutralization; watch out for ion compatibility

Hydrogenated Lecithin
