- Solvent and diluent; the base for most aqueous formulations.
- Isohexadecane
- Lightweight mineral-oil-derived emollient and solvent; low viscosity, non-comedogenic, improves texture
- Hexylene Glycol
- Polyol solvent and humectant with penetration enhancement; limit concentration to avoid irritation, no specific allergen tag
- Dimethicone
- Silicone occlusive at 1–5%; provides smooth feel, non-penetrating, suitable for sensitive skin
- Isopropyl Palmitate
- Isopropyl palmitate for dry touch; prone to oxidation, needs antioxidants, low viscosity
- Trisiloxane
- Used as anti-foaming and lubricant; provides silkiness, used at low levels.
- Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate
- Mild non-ionic emulsifier with moderate water solubility, used as anti-static and skin feel modifier
- PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate
