Light occlusive and solvent at 1–10%; non-greasy feel, suitable for oily and combination skin
Glycerin
Workhorse humectant at 3–10%; tacky at high levels, pair with occlusives
Isopropyl Myristate
Light synthetic ester, fast-drying and non-greasy; high comedogenic risk, limit in acne-prone skin
Lanolin
Wool-derived lipid, excellent occlusive emollient; high sensitization rate (wool alcohols), caution for sensitive skin.
Petrolatum
Mineral oil occlusive and antistatic; requires full refining history to ensure absence of potential carcinogens.
