Light occlusive and solvent at 1–10%; non-greasy feel, suitable for oily and combination skin

Olea Europaea Fruit Oil

Olive oil, rich in squalene and oleic acid; moderate comedogenicity, caution for oily skin.

Rosa Damascena Flower Extract

Rose damascena extract, fragrance/tonic; contains allergens (linalool, geraniol, etc.), labeling required in EU.

Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract

Plant extract containing rosmarinic acid etc., with antioxidant and antimicrobial properties; may contain allergenic fragrances, patch test for sensitive skin, typical concentration <1%.

Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate

Galactomyces ferment filtrate humectant; complex matrix, assess allergens and stability.

Sodium Hyaluronate

Potent humectant at 0.1–2%; different MW for penetration depth, high levels may draw moisture

Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate

Acetylated HA; modified for hydrophobicity, improved penetration and non-tacky feel compared to standard HA.

Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid

Low-MW humectant with superior penetration vs high-MW; 0.1-0.5% typical, hygroscopic, store dry to prevent clumping.

Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate

Cationic hyaluronic acid, 0.1–1%; water-soluble thickener and conditioning agent.

Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer

Crosslinked high-MW HA; forms surface hydrogel for long-lasting hydration, minimal penetration, physical film-forming.

Hyaluronic Acid

High-water-binding humectant at 0.1-1%; high-MW for surface film, low-MW for dermal potential, check cationic compatibility.

Potassium Hyaluronate

Hyaluronic salt, excellent humectant; efficacy varies with MW, best with occlusive base

Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate

Low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid derivative with better penetration and strong hydration; different molecular weights provide hydration at various depths, typical concentration 0.1-1%.

Dimethylsilanol Hyaluronate

Silicone-modified HA, moisturizing/plumping 0.1-2%; smooth, non-tacky

Pentylene Glycol

Polyol humectant at 1-3%; low irritancy, suitable for sensitive skin

Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate

Mild non-ionic emulsifier for O/W systems; cetyl ester structure may irritate sensitive skin, use at 0.5-3%.

Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate

Mild emulsifier and emollient; 1-3%, suitable for O/W systems

Caprylyl Glycol

Polyol conditioner and preservative booster at 0.5–3%; emollient feel, often paired with 1,2-hexanediol
