Propylene Glycol

Glycerin

Workhorse humectant at 3–10%; tacky at high levels, pair with occlusives

Propanediol

Polyol solvent at 1–5%; light feel, aids solubilization, propylene glycol alternative

Tephrosia Purpurea Seed Extract

Skin conditioning seed extract with polyphenols; verify batch stability and microbial limits.

PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil

Solubilizer and emulsifier for oil-soluble ingredients; high concentrations may cause contact dermatitis in sensitive skin.
