Ingredients explained

Sodium Coco-Sulfate
Strong anionic surfactant; effective cleansing, may cause dryness
Distarch Phosphate
Crosslinked starch phosphate; absorbent/anticaking, may feel dry at high levels
Palmitic Acid
Palmitic acid for emulsification/emollient; solid fat, high melting point, occlusive.
Stearic Acid
Fatty acid emulsifier, white waxy solid; adds slip feel
Cetearyl Alcohol
Fatty alcohol emulsifier at 1-5%; non-ionic surfactant
Aqua
Solvent, main base; microbial control is critical
Citric Acid
Buffer and chelator at 0.1–2%; adjusts pH, may irritate sensitive skin at low pH
Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate
Amino acid surfactant, gentle and suitable for sensitive skin; moderate cleansing power.
Betaine
Betaine for mild moisturizing/surfactant; low concentration 1-2% common, high may irritate.
Polyglyceryl-6 Caprylate
Gentle emulsifier for O/W systems; refreshing feel, good biodegradability
Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate
Non-ionic emulsifier; biodegradable, compatibility with anionics requires check.
Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil
Grapeseed oil, lightweight emollient and antioxidant; high linoleic acid, suitable for oily and combination skin.
Tocopherol
Natural antioxidant (vitamin E) at 0.1–1%; prone to oxidation, store protected from light
Ascorbyl Palmitate
Ascorbyl palmitate, lipophilic Vit C ester, antioxidant; oxidizes, needs light/air protection.
Coco-Glucoside
Mild non-ionic surfactant for cleansing and foaming; rich foam, low irritation, suitable for sensitive and children's products
Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Cocamidopropyl betaine; zwitterionic co-surfactant reducing irritation and boosting foam, common in mild cleansers.
Glyceryl Oleate
Glyceride-based emulsifier and emolient with mild perfuming properties.
Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides Citrate
Hydrogenated palm glycerides citrate emollient for smoothness and richness.
Lecithin
Phospholipid emulsifier at 1-5%; biocompatible, moisturizing/antioxidant, prone to oxidation (add TBHQ), mild for sensitive skin.
Sodium Sulfate
Inorganic salt for viscosity; high concentrations cause osmotic dehydration.
Sodium Hydroxide
Strong base neutralizer for pH adjustment; handle with extreme care
Sodium Chloride
Salt for gel viscosity control; used as precipitant in soaps
Sodium Citrate
Sodium citrate for buffering and chelating; adjust pH, careful with strong acid reactions.
