Lysine HCl, amino acid for hair and skin conditioning, reduces protein loss

Solvent, main base; microbial control is critical

Dimethicone

Silicone occlusive at 1–5%; provides smooth feel, non-penetrating, suitable for sensitive skin

Butylene Glycol

Polyol humectant and solvent at 1–5%; aids solubilization, light feel

Octinoxate

Water-soluble UVB absorber for sunscreen; concentration limited by regulations, may irritate sensitive skin

Alcohol
