Protease
Protease for exfoliation; control pH and concentration to protect barrier, avoid strong acid/alkali.
Leucine
Amino acid for antistatic and skin/hair conditioning; used at low concentrations.
Lysine
Amino acid conditioner for anti-static hair care; low irritation at typical cosmetic concentrations.
Phenylalanine
Amino acid for hair and skin conditioning; usually part of a blend, no significant standalone efficacy data
Tryptophan
Amino acid for conditioning and antistatic; faint odor.
Valine
Amino acid humectant, common in amino acid cleansers and sprays; mild, suitable for all skin types
Threonine
Threonine, essential amino acid for hair/skin; blended with other AAs for balance.
Isoleucine
Amino acid for hair and skin conditioning and antistatic purposes; often blended; check taste if high.
Methionine
Sulfur-containing amino acid for hair and skin conditioning; often used in combinations with other amino acids.
Allantoin
Skin soother at 0.5-2%; promotes cell regeneration
Betaine
Betaine for mild moisturizing/surfactant; low concentration 1-2% common, high may irritate.
Panthenol
Panthenol (vitamin B5) at 1–5%; moisturizing and reparative, supports barrier recovery
Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate
Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate for moisturizing/soothing; inhibits 5-LOX, water-soluble, for sensitive skin.
Glucose
Low-MW humectant and buffer; high hygroscopicity requires careful preservation and humidity control.
Xylitylglucoside
Polyol humectant with high water absorption and fresh feel; often co-used with propylene glycol for enhanced hydration.
Anhydroxylitol
Anhydrous xylitol, potent humectant; high hygroscopicity may cause stickiness at high levels.
Xylitol
Polyol humectant, sweet taste; water-soluble, high hygroscopy, excess draws moisture.
Ethylhexylglycerin
Mild conditioner and preservative booster at 0.5–1%; reduces preservative load, smooth feel
Sodium Phytate
Chelating agent stabilizes metal ions to prevent oxidative degradation; also used in oral care, high safety profile.
